Program Co-ordinator (Full time, 37.5 hrs per week)The Calgary Chinese Elderly Citizens’ Association is a non-profit social service organization in Chinatown established in 1985; with a mission to provide a supportive and barrier free environment to help bridge the gap, integrate and encourage Chinese older adults to live an independent, fulfilled and happy life in Canada.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and organize programs and projects according to client needs and CCECA missions and goals
2. Work with various internal and external groups to create community impact
3. Liaise and explore opportunities in working with service providers and committees
4. Plan and implement ideas in promoting our services and events
5. Recruit, train, supervise and engage volunteers in different activities and events
6. Assist Operation Manager in collecting data and compiling reports according to funder requirement
7. Require to work on Saturday when needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Service, Social Work or related discipline
• A minimum of 3 years of work experience with a minimum of 2 years in organizing and running groups and events independently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
• Caring and empathetic in a professional, mature manner
• Multi-tasking with tight deadlines yet attention to detail
• Proactive and ability to work independently
• Excellent writing, verbal and public speaking skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Fluency in speaking and writing English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
