各位河南陕西老乡：
As you may know, in Calgary, we have an association called CPEAC, The Chinese Professionals and Entrepreneurs Association of Calgary. It hosts an annual BBQ at Bragg Creek Park. This year, the BBQ is scheduled this coming Sunday, Aug. 22nd. If it rains, it will be postponed to the next Sunday, Aug. 29th. It is an excellent opportunity to taste other’s fantastic cooking, to have fun, and to make some friends and connections.
This year, I am in charge of the registration of Henan group and Shaanxi Group. To register, we need to know how many adults and children are coming from your family, your name, phone # and e-mail addresses. The e-mail address is very important because if the BBQ is cancelled, we can e-mail everybody with a short notice. Calling everybody would be impossible.
The reason that we combined the two groups together is that 1. Henan group did not have enough people coming the last year so we joined force with Daqing group. 2. The picnic tables are limited. If there are too many groups, there won’t be enough tables. 3. I am a half Henan Ren and a half Shaanxi Ren.
In addition to the activities and prizes offered by CPEAC, our group will offer the prizes for the best dish, best main course, best soup, and the best desert, just like what the Henan group did for the last Chinese New Year Celebration. In addition, we will sell the tickets for other prizes as well, just like the last potluck that we had.
To those who has a business: If you want to promote your business in our group, you will need to donate at least one prize for people to win. We will announce you as a donor and the nature of your business. Please contact me ASAP for this arrangement.
